Job Title: Trust Staff
Reports to: Branch Manager
Areas of Responsibility: Client & Loan Portfolio Management
Purpose
The Trust Staff serves as the main field implementer of branch program components. This role is responsible for client recruitment, group formation, loan portfolio management, savings and credit repayment collection, loan utilization monitoring, and regular supervision visits.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Recruitment & Group Management
- Recruit and manage a minimum portfolio of 300 clients.
- Facilitate weekly group meetings (1.5 hours each) to collect savings and loan repayments.
- Record meeting events, including attendance, irregularities, and loan proposals.
2. Loan Management
- Prepare an annual credit disbursement plan for organized groups, subject to Branch Manager approval.
- Verify borrower eligibility and ensure proper credit utilization.
- Monitor repayment performance and take immediate action for delinquent accounts, including home visits and issuing collection notices.
- Endorse unpaid loans after maturity to the RAFI Micro-Finance Legal Retainer for action.
3. Collection & Banking
- Deposit daily collections to the bank on the same day.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date TS Register entries.
- Record attendance and movement details before leaving the office.
- Prepare deposit slips in duplicate; submit validated copies to the Branch Manager daily.
4. Compliance & Accountability
- Adhere to financial control protocols; unauthorized holding of collections is a punishable offense.
- Ensure transparency and proper documentation in all transactions.
Organizational Relationships
Reports directly to the Branch Manager and is accountable for the effective management of assigned clients and the loan portfolio.
Qualifications
Education:
- College graduate, preferably in Commerce, Business, or related field.
- Strong numerical skills required.
- Experience in microfinance is an advantage.
